The invention provides a traction device for a rail vehicle. The traction device comprises a T-shaped traction pin installed between a vehicle body and a steering frame structure. The two sides of the head of the traction pin are fixedly connected with the vehicle body through damping devices. The tail of the traction pin is connected with the steering frame structure through a spherical hinge. The traction pin can rotate freely around the damping devices and slide or rotate vertically in the spherical hinge. According to the traction device for the rail vehicle, the vehicle body and the steering frame structure can rotate relatively and be decoupled completely in the vertical direction and the transverse direction.
