The invention provides a WIFI-based intersection traffic control system, which comprises a first bus detection device (5), a second bus detection device (12), a main road gateway lifting rail (6) and a branch gateway lifting rail (7), wherein the first bus detection device (5) is arranged on a bus lane at a position before entering an intersection (10), and is used for detecting whether a bus passes by; the second bus detection device (12) is arranged on the bus lane at a position after passing the intersection (10), and is used for detecting whether the bus passes through the intersection (10); the main road gateway lifting rail (6) is arranged on a main road gateway, and the branch gateway lifting rail (7) is arranged on a branch road gateway; and the first bus detection device (5) is in communication connection with the main road gateway lifting rail (6), and the second bus detection device (12) is in communication connection with the branch gateway lifting rail (7). The WIFI-based intersection traffic control system achieves automatic traffic control of the intersection and guarantees the smooth passage of the bus through arranging the first bus detection device, the second bus detection device the main road gateway lifting rail and the branch gateway lifting rail.
