The invention provides an elevator group management control apparatus and an elevator group management control method. According to the invention, when a specified elevator is subjected to maintenance operation, the utilization state is preferentially considered to manage an elevator group for the group management control. The elevator group management control apparatus comprises single elevator control systems and an operation management control part. The single elevator control systems are used for controlling the rising and falling of the multiple elevators in a building and the opening and closing of doors of the elevators. The operation management control part is connected to the multiple single elevator control systems so as to perform operation management for the multiple elevators. The operation management control part sends a maintenance operation switching command to any elevator selected from the multiple elevators, determines that whether restrict items, restricting the maintenance operation switching, of the elevator receiving the maintenance operation switching command are removed, and performing maintenance operation for the elevator when the restrict items are removed.
