The invention discloses a novel passenger transport rail transit system. The system is characterized by comprising a train operation track, an annular track, a train and an auxiliary train set; a straight section of the annular track is divided into an acceleration section, a synchronizing section and a deceleration section, the train operation track is parallel with the straight section of the annular track, and the distance between the train and the auxiliary train set is between 30 cm and 100 cm. The novel passenger transport rail transit system has the advantages that energy is saved, abrasion of the train and the tracks is reduced, and the average operating speed of the train is increased; energy generated by the auxiliary train set in the acceleration synchronizing process and the braking process can be used by the auxiliary train set, so that the energy utilization rate is high; moreover, the auxiliary train set is used cyclically in the station, so the problem of back-and-forth transport of the auxiliary train set is avoided.
