The invention relates to a novel belt ply structure for a radial tire. The tire comprises an inner liner layer and a tire body from the inner side to the outer side in sequence, wherein a ground contact surface of a tire outer layer is a tread; the belt ply structure is arranged between the tire body and the tread; the belt ply structure comprises four layers of belt plies; an aramid zero-degree belt ply is arranged between the second belt ply and the third belt ply at a tire shoulder. A novel material distribution structure that the four layers of steel wire belt plies and the aramid zero-degree belt are arranged is adopted, so that a heat generation rate at the tire shoulder of the tire is reduced on the basis of guaranteeing reasonable distribution of ground contact prints and pressure of the tire, the defect of early damage of the tire shoulder easily caused by the fact the heat generation rate of end points of the curtain cloth of the belt ply at the tire shoulder is high is overcome with the adoption of the technology, the strain energy distribution mode of the tire shoulder is improved and the service life of the tire is prolonged.
