The invention provides an intersection traffic control system for ensuring bus passage. The system comprises a first bus detection device (5) which is arranged on a bus lane and is located before an entrance portion of an intersection (10), a second bus detection device (12) which is arranged on the bus lane and is located behind a departure portion of the intersection (10); an intersection vehicle detection sensor (13) is arranged in the intersection (10); a main trunk road exit vehicle detection sensor and a main trunk road entrance vehicle detection sensor are arranged on a main trunk road access (9); a main trunk road exit lifting rod (61) and a main trunk road entrance lifting rod (62) are arranged correspondingly; a branch road exit vehicle detection sensor and a branch road entrance vehicle detection sensor are arranged at a branch road access (8); and a branch road exit lifting rod (71) and a branch road entrance lifting rod (72) are arranged correspondingly. The intersection traffic control system of the invention can benefit the smooth passage of the bus.
