The invention relates to a lifting device used for railway wheel set running-in tests, and belongs to the technical field of railway vehicle overhaul. The lifting device is used for descending or lifting a locomotive wheel set. Outwards-protruding wheel set side faces are arranged on the locomotive wheel set. The lifting device comprises a supporting mechanism and a lifting mechanism. Connection ends are arranged on the lower portion of the supporting mechanism. The supporting mechanism is fixedly connected with the lifting mechanism through the connection ends. The supporting mechanism comprises a working table body. Outer supporting rails with L-shaped sections are symmetrically arranged on the two sides of the working table body. Two stop pieces are transversely arranged on the outer supporting rails. The side faces of the locomotive wheel set are supported and fixed through the outer supporting rails and the two stop pieces. According to the technical scheme, the side faces of the locomotive wheel set are supported through the supporting mechanism with the outer supporting rails, the side faces are restrained and fixed through the two stop pieces and prevented from rolling on the outer supporting rails, and beneficial effects are remarkable.
