The invention relates to the field of air pressure detection, in particular to a tire pressure detecting device and method. The device and method are applied to detecting the air pressure of a tire through a mobile electronic device. The detecting device comprises a tire charging connector cap, a headset base and an air pressure sensor, wherein the tire charging connector cap is installed on a tire charging connector and provided with a front portion and a back portion which are communicated, an air exhaust hole is formed in one end, far away from the back portion, of the front portion, and the back portion comprises a stretching bin; the headset base is arranged in the mobile electronic device and comprises a headset hole, and the front portion of the tire charging connector cap can be inserted into the headset hole; and the air pressure sensor is arranged in the mobile electronic device and provided with a detecting hole, the detecting hole and the headset hole are through, and the air pressure sensor detects the air pressure of the tire through the detecting hole. When the front portion of the tire charging connector cap is inserted into the headset hole, the air exhaust hole is inserted into the detecting hole, the air is exhausted out of the air exhaust hole to the detecting hole by pressing the stretching bin, and therefore air pressure of the tire is detected.
