The invention relates to a ventilating device for an oil-containing closed container of a motor vehicle, having a conduit which connects the container to the atmosphere and enables an equalisation of pressure to the environment when the volume changes in the container. A filter housing (1) disposed in the conduit is divided by a gas-permeable and fluid-impermeable filter membrane, wherein the filter membrane forming a filter insert (11) is disposed on a frame (10) which can be releasably inserted into the interior of the filter housing (1) and of which the cross-section corresponds to the cross-section of the interior of the filter housing (1) and wherein a first part of the conduit leads from the container to one side of the filter membrane and a second part of the conduit leads from the second side of the filter membrane to the environment. The frame (10), which has a through opening (14), comprises a radially circumferential annular space having an annular opening which leads outwards, which annular space is filled with a curable adhesive and into which the radially circumferential edge region of the filter membrane protrudes through the annular opening.
