The invention discloses a timing device. The timing device comprises a base, a driving motor, a rotating disk, a plurality of shifting blocks, a linkage component and a switch; the driving motor drives the rotating disk and the shifting blocks to rotate; the plurality of shifting blocks are closed distributed along the circumferential direction of the rotating disk; the shifting blocks can slide and shift between two axial positions of the rotating disk; the linkage component is rotatably connected with the base; when the linkage component rotates, the matching portion of the linkage component can move relative to the radial direction of the rotating disk; and one end of the linkage rod can trigger the switch so as to change the on-off state of the switch. Each shifting block can represent a predetermined time period; the on-off state of the switch can be determined based on different matching relationships of the shifting blocks which rotate to the matching portion and the matching portion; the number of the shifting blocks can determine a time period, so that the switch can be in a close-circuited or short-circuited condition in the time period, and therefore, charging can be performed in the predetermined time, and accidents due to excessive charging can be avoided. The invention also discloses a charger, a battery box and an electric vehicle which adopt the timing device.
