The invention discloses a method for controlling a vehicle power system. The method for controlling the vehicle power system comprises a detecting device (11) and a control device (12), wherein the detecting device (11) is used for detecting fault information of the vehicle power system; the control device (12) is provided with a coordination processing module, which outputs a control command to other power parts for a vehicle to normally operate according to fault information of at least one power part of the power system; an input end of the coordination processing module is connected with the detecting device (11); and an output end of the coordination processing module is connected with the power system. According to a power control system disclosed by the invention, possible influences of faults of each power part on other power parts are taken into consideration, and coordinated control between different power parts is realized through controlling operation states of other parts so that the power system normally operates under a fault condition.
