The invention provides an electric driving system for automobiles, and an automobile using the electric driving system. The electric driving system for automobiles comprises an inverter unit, an electric motor unit and a gearbox unit, wherein the inverter unit is used for converting a direct current supplied from an external power source into an alternating current; the electric motor unit is used for converting the alternating current from the inverter unit into mechanical rotation, and the mechanical rotation is output from an output shaft; through the gearbox unit, the rotation transmitted from an input shaft is decelerated and then output. The electric motor unit, the gearbox unit and the inverter unit are respectively provided with relatively independent encapsulated casings, and in a manner that the gearbox unit is sandwiched between the electric motor unit and the inverter unit in the axial direction of the input shaft of the gearbox unit, the electric motor unit, the gearbox unit and the inverter unit are fixedly connected together in a demountable manner. The thickness of the encapsulated casing of the inverter unit in the axial direction is the smallest.
