The invention relates to the field of torsion beams of an automobile, in particular to a torsion beam and a forming method thereof. A tubular torsion beam comprises a middle section, a left end part and a right end part, wherein the left end part and the right end part are symmetrically arranged on the two sides of the middle section; a torsion beam main body is bent with a certain radian in both an axial direction and a radial direction; the middle section is folded along an axis so that the section of the middle section is formed in a symmetric fold line shape; the inner wall and the outer wall of the fold line shape stick to each other; and transition between the inner wall and the outer wall of the fold line shape is realized through a transitional circular arc. The forming method for the tubular torsion beam comprises the following steps of determining shape parameters of the torsion beam, selecting an initial circular straight tube according to the shape parameters of the torsion beam, bending the initial circular straight tube in both the axial direction and the radial direction, hydraulically forming the bent circular straight tube into a part, and trimming the two end parts of the part so as to obtain the final tubular torsion beam. As the middle section is bent into a U shape or a V shape, the inner wall and the outer wall of which stick to each other, the tubular torsion beam provided by the invention exerts good rigidity; and as the end parts of the tubular torsion beam are formed through hydraulic expansion, the tubular torsion beam provided by the invention has the advantages of high strength, light weight, low cost, good reliability and broad market application prospect.
