The invention belongs to the technical field of auto parts, and particularly relates to a production method for a light-weight auto carpet. The production method comprises the following steps: laying of a carpet skin, absorption molding, laying of a carpet shock-absorbing substrate, heating of the carpet shock-absorbing substrate, compression molding, laying of a carpet surface and a carpet shock-absorbing semi-finished product, heating of the carpet surface, lamination molding, and water cutting, so as to obtain a light-weight auto carpet product. According to the production method, the labor intensity of workers during production can be greatly reduced, and the production efficiency is high.
