The invention discloses a vehicle body structure and method for improving the outside corridor locomotive modal frequency. The vehicle body structure comprises a vehicle body and a side wall frame. The side wall frame is welded and fixed to the vehicle body. The side wall frame sequentially comprises a storage battery chamber frame body, an electrical chamber frame body and a power chamber frame body from left to right. A crossed inclined supporting structure is installed on the storage battery chamber frame body and the power chamber frame body. The vehicle body structure is simple in structure and reasonable in design, and the stability and torsion resistance of the vehicle body can be effectively enhanced; by means of the vehicle body structure, the locomotive body first-order vertical bending modal frequency is improved by 41.5% and is improved from 4.79 Hz to 6.78 Hz, the bogie nodding frequency of 5 Hz is completely avoided, and the probability of locomotive resonance phenomenon is greatly decreased; the crossed inclined supporting structure is easy to detach, and locomotive facility installation and maintenance are facilitated.
