The invention discloses an AC/DC hybrid excitation rail eddy-current brake, relates to the field of motors and aims to solve the problems that the temperature of steel rails is increased, parameters such as the electric conductivity, magnetic inductivity and the like change and the service life of the steel rails is shortened due to large amount of heat generated by eddy current on the steel rails during train braking of the conventional DC excitation rail eddy-current braking technology, a high-capacity excitation source is needed to be added for rail eddy-current braking, electric energy is consumed during braking, danger of braking failure exists in case of power failure or insufficient electric power, the braking force is small at a low speed and the applicable train speed range is small. An AC output end of an excitation control inverter is connected with a control winding of an AC excitation eddy-current braking unit, an excitation capacitor group is connected in parallel to an output end of a power winding of the AC excitation eddy-current braking unit, the output end of the power winding is connected with an AC input end of a multi-phase rectifier, and two ends of an excitation winding of a DC excitation eddy-current braking unit are connected to an output end of the multi-phase rectifier. The AC/DC hybrid excitation rail eddy-current brake can be used for braking of high-speed trains.
