A seat reclining device for vehicles, comprising a lock mechanism (5L). The lock mechanism (5L) comprises first and second members (10L, 20L) that are mutually relatively rotatable, first poles (31L, 32L, 33L), and a cam (34L) that moves the first poles (31L, 32L, 33L) in the radial direction and unlocks or locks same. The seat reclining device for vehicles comprises: a memory ring (60) that integrally rotates with the first member (10L) or the second member (20L), by engaging, half-engaging, or releasing engagement with the first poles (31L, 32L, 33L); an engagement protrusion section (24L) provided in a housing recessed section of the second member (20L) and which protrudes towards the inside in the radial direction; and a rotation permitting section (61) formed in the outer circumferential surface of the memory ring (60). Relative rotation within a prescribed rotation range is permitted between the second member (20L) and the memory ring (60), as a result of the rotation permitting section (61) allowing travel by the engagement protrusion section (24L).
