The invention relates to the technical field of internal combustion locomotives, in particular to a high-strength hanging-type fuel oil tank of an internal combustion locomotive. The fuel oil tank comprises a tank body and hanging brackets, wherein the hanging brackets are connected to the top of the tank body; a frame and skin panels are arranged on the tank body; the skin panels are welded to the periphery of the frame; partition boards and strengthening beams are arranged in the frame; a connecting bracket and connecting rods are arranged on each hanging bracket. The tank body adopts a combined structure of the frame and the skin panels, so that the fuel oil tank is light in weight and high in strength; the fuel oil tank is simple to manufacture; the partition boards in perforated structures are arranged in the middle part of the oil tank and used for weakening the waggle of fuel oil in the oil tank, and besides, the stiffness of the oil tank is improved. The strengthening beams can greatly improve the strength and the collision resistance of oil-tank walls; half-waist-shaped oil via holes are formed at intervals in the lower part of each strengthening beam, so that the communication of fuel oil in the oil tank is guaranteed. The hanging brackets are welded to vehicle rack beams, and the connecting brackets are welded to the tank body; each hanging bracket and the corresponding connecting bracket are connected into a whole through bolts; the fuel oil tank is convenient to mount and stable in structure.
