The invention discloses a laser-type traffic signal lamp, comprising a light source and a collimator system. The laser-type traffic signal lamp also includes a beam expanding system and a cooling system. The beam expanding system is located between the light source and the collimator system. The cooling system is used for preventing the beam expanding system from being heated. The light emitted from the light source passes through the beam expanding system, then illuminates the collimator system and then goes through the collimator beam system to form a uniform light beam. The invention makes full use of the advantages of high monochromaticity, brightness and directivity of laser and the advantages of small volume, light weight, high integration and the like of a optical diffraction device, achieves the lighting effect required by a traffic signal lamp while meeting the above design requirements, has the characteristic of high system compactness, breaks through the designing concept of a traditional traffic signal lamp, has the advantages of good lighting effect, compact structure, high solar energy utilization efficiency and so forth as compared with the traditional traffic signal lamp, and has a good application prospect.
