The invention discloses a stretchable warning belt device for an escalator. The stretchable warning belt device is installed on an outer cover plate of a rotary cock of the escalator. The stretchable warning belt device comprises a shell and a stretchable device. The lower portion of the shell is fixedly connected with a steel plate. The steel plate is fixed to the outer cover plate. The stretchable device is arranged in the shell. A warning belt which can elastically stretch and retract in the stretchable device is arranged on the stretchable device. According to the stretchable warning belt device for the escalator, when the escalator breaks down, security personnel can rapidly spread the warning belt to remind people that the escalator cannot be used before escalator maintainers arrive, and thus potential safety hazards are effectively prevented; in addition, the stretchable warning belt device is made of stainless steel materials, thereby being not prone to deformation or rusting, simple in structure, not prone to damage, convenient to use and easy to operate.
