The invention discloses a gear and rack type power steering gear sealing structure which comprises an input shaft (1) and a dust cover (2). The gear and rack type power steering gear sealing structure further comprises an upper sealing cover (3) and a lower sealing cover (4) located inside the dust cover (2). The upper sealing cover (3) and the lower sealing cover (4) are assembled in a matched mode to form a small dual-rectangular-shaped gap. A shell (5) and an oil seal (6) are sequentially arranged below the lower sealing cover (4). According to the gear and rack type power steering gear sealing structure, after some muddy water enters a dual-rectangular-shaped cavity, the dual-rectangular-shaped cavity is axially filled with the muddy water rapidly; due to the fact that gas exists in space inside the shell, muddy water needs to further enter the space and needs to penetrate through the dual-rectangular-shaped thin wall to overcome air pressure to enter the shell; during actual working, no extra pressure outside a steering gear is applied to muddy water; therefore, the muddy water cannot cross the dual-rectangular-shaped groove to enter the steering gear; on the basis of the principle, the phenomenon that no muddy water exists in the oil seal working environment can be effectively protected, and therefore the effective sealing function of an oil seal is ensured.
