The invention discloses a steering shaft which comprises an inner shaft body and a hollow shaft body. One end of the inner shaft body is sleeved with the hollow shaft body. A plurality of grooves with the length direction parallel to the axis center line of the hollow shaft body are formed in the hollow shaft body, and the grooves are evenly distributed on the inner side of the hollow shaft body around the axis center line of the hollow shaft body. The inner shaft body is correspondingly provided with a plurality of rows of concave holes, and the multiple rows of concave holes are evenly distributed in the outer surface of the inner shaft body around the axis center line of the inner shaft body. The concave holes in each row are distributed at equal distance in the axis center line direction of the inner shaft body. A solid metal ball is contained in each concave hole, the parts, protruding out of the concave holes, of the metal balls are located in the grooves, and the size of the metal balls corresponds to the size of the grooves and the size of the concave holes. The inner shaft body can freely move in the hollow shaft body in the axial direction through the metal balls, and torque is transmitted between the inner shaft body and the hollow shaft body through the metal balls.
