The invention discloses a control mechanism for a guardrail breakdown van. The control mechanism comprises an electromagnetic gas valve (1), an air cylinder (10), a manual reversing valve (4), a valve frame (3) and a handle (7). The two ends of the valve frame (3) are provided with a vertical plate and a bent plate respectively. One end of the air cylinder (10) is installed on the vertical plate of the valve frame (3) through a pin shaft, and the other end of the air cylinder (10) is connected with an air cylinder connector (9). The bottom of the manual reversing valve (4) is fixed to the valve frame (3) through the bent plate. A valve element of the manual reversing valve (4) is connected with a valve connector (8), and the other end of the manual reversing valve (4) is connected with the bottom of the handle (7). The valve connector (8) is hinged to the air cylinder connector (9). The electromagnetic gas valve (1) is connected with the air cylinder (10) through a pipeline (11). The functions of a common electromagnetic valve can be achieved with extremely-low cost, the opening degree of the valve element of the manual reversing valve can be flexibly adjusted so that the speed of different working actions can be adjusted, performance is reliable, and cost is low.
