The invention discloses a cruise control method and system of an unmanned ship. The method comprises the steps that navigation points of the unmanned ship are obtained; according to the navigation points, a navigation line is automatically generated or the navigation line is customized to obtain a predetermined navigation route; whether a yaw situation occurs on the unmanned ship or not is monitored in real time, and if yes, a command is sent to the unmanned ship to return the predetermined navigation route; whether an obstacle is located on a front navigation channel of the unmanned ship or not is monitored in real time, and if yes, operation of avoiding the obstacle is conducted. The system comprises a navigation point obtaining unit, a navigation line making unit, a yaw monitoring unit and an obstacle avoiding unit. According to the cruise control method and system of the unmanned ship, by means of making the navigation line, the yaw situation and the obstacle situation on the navigation channel of the unmanned ship are monitored in real time, the unmanned ship can deal with the sudden obstacle situation, the situation of crashing into the obstacle is effectively avoided, the unmanned ship can be indicated to return the predetermined navigation route, the real-time performance is strong, and the safety of the unmanned ship is greatly improved. The cruise control method and system of the unmanned ship can be widely applied to unmanned ship products.
