The invention discloses a train running scheduling method. The method comprises the steps of obtaining the passenger flow volume of a peak period and the passenger flow volume of a flat-hump period of train running on a line, and obtaining the passenger carrying capacity of a train, the passenger capacity of single carriages and the departure interval of an adjacent train number, wherein the departure intervals of all adjacent train numbers within the same day are basically the same. According to the train running scheduling method, the basically-identical running interval is adopted for the whole day, the number of carriages of trains running during the passenger flow peak period is larger than that of carriages of trains running during the passenger flow non-peak period, thereby the transport capacity of the trains during the passenger flow peak period is improved, the running interval during the non-peak period is shortened, and the phenomenon that a great number of carriages of the trains are vacant during the passenger flow non-peak period is avoided. Therefore, by means of the train running scheduling method, the train running efficiency is improved, the train running cost is lowered, and the running service level is upgraded.
