The invention discloses AGV automatic charging ground equipment and a method utilizing the equipment to charge. The automatic charging ground equipment comprises an RFID label array on the ground used for dividing an overall charging buffer area into a waiting area and a charging area, a power panel, a conducting tank, a safety cover, a pressure sensor, an electromagnet right behind the conducting tank, a direct-current power charging device, a ground charging controller and a ground wireless module. The power panel can be laid down and erected. The conducting tank is arranged above the power panel which is covered by the safety cover. The pressure sensor is mounted into the conducting tank. The charging power panel is placed in the structure such that the power panel can be laid down. By adding the electromagnet, a charging plug can be prompted to be accurately connected with the power panel. The pressure sensor is used for detecting whether an AGV plug is reliably connected or not in order to ensure safety during a charging process and to prevent electric leakage. The safety cover is designed to be aligned with the ground so that electric safety of the power panel is ensured and obstructions of foreign matters are avoided.
