The invention provides a blast furnace shell outer wall welding platform which comprises an annular platform body. A telescopic device is connected to the inner edge of the platform body, and the telescopic device can stretch and contract in the radial direction of the platform body. The platform body comprises an inner ring, an outer ring and a plurality of main beams radiating towards the outer ring from the inner ring, the number of the main beams is at least four, every two adjacent main beams are connected through a secondary beam, and an operation panel is laid between every two adjacent main beams. The telescopic device comprises a sliding rail connected with the main beams in a sliding mode, and the sliding rail can slide in the length direction of the main beams. The invention further provides an erecting method for the blast furnace shell outer wall welding platform. According to the blast furnace shell outer wall welding platform and the erecting method for the blast furnace shell outer wall welding platform, welding areas in the positions, with different diameters, of the outer wall of a furnace shell can be welded by adjusting the diameter sizes of the welding platform through the telescopic device, the requirement for welding of the outer wall of the whole furnace shell can be met without erecting the welding platform again, a large amount of time for erecting the welding platform is saved, the labor intensity is lowered, the construction cost is greatly reduced, and significance is achieved in practical engineering.
