A pressure damping device is provided with: a cylinder (11) which contains oil; a cylinder (12) which is located on the outside of the cylinder (11) and which form, between the cylinder (12) and the cylinder (11), a reservoir chamber (R) in which oil is contained; a piston (30) which is provided within the cylinder (11) so as to be movable in the axial direction and which divides the space within the cylinder (11) into a first oil chamber (Y1) and a second oil chamber (Y2), which contain oil; a piston rod (20) which is connected to the piston (30) and which moves in the axial direction of the cylinder (11); a bottom valve (40) which separates the inside of the cylinder (11) and the reservoir chamber (R) and which has a connection passage for liquid between the inside of the cylinder (11) and the reservoir chamber (R); and a check valve mechanism (50) which is either disposed in a region within the cylinder (11), the region being a region in which the movement of the piston (30) is limited, or disposed on the outside of the cylinder (11) and on the outside radially of a region formed by axially extending the cylinder (11), the check valve mechanism (50) permitting a flow in one direction between the inside of the cylinder (11) and the reservoir chamber (R) caused by the movement of the piston (30) and restricting a flow in the opposite direction.
