The present invention belongs to the field of urban intelligent public traffic information processing technology and specifically discloses a real-time bus arrival time prediction method in consideration of the GPS data delay effect. The method comprises the following five steps of pre-processing GPS data received in real time; calculating the time difference between the latest information returning time of each bus and the current reference time; correcting the location of each bus in the operation state, determining a bus that is nearest to a target station; and predicting the time for the above bus to arrive at the target station. According to the technical scheme of the invention, the influence of the delay effect of the real-time bus positioning data on searching the bus nearest to the target station and on the reliability of arrival time prediction results are considered, and the Information deviation is effectively relieved. Meanwhile, the real-time bus information service level is improved. At the same time, the travel time information of a previous bus is utilized, so that the real-time road condition can be fully reflected. Therefore, the long-term prediction accuracy and the long-term prediction reliability for the arrival time of buses are further improved.
