The invention provides a parking space searching method and system, and belongs to the field of the Internet. The method comprises the steps that a mobile terminal transmits a parking space searching instruction, containing target position information, to a server, so as to enable the server to search a first target parking lot in the position information of a plurality of parking lots according to the target position information, wherein the distance from the first target parking lot is a position corresponding to the target position information is less than a preset threshold value of distance; and the mobile terminal receives the position information, which is returned by the server, of the first parking lot. The method enables a driver to be able to quickly drive a car to a parking lot selected by himself or herself, and brings great convenience to the driver. Meanwhile, the method avoids automobile energy waste caused by that the driver spends a large amount of time in searching the parking lot.
