The invention provides a trunk line self-optimization signal control method based on an array radar, and mainly related to the field of trunk line road intersection signal optimization control. Through the integrated application of a novel array radar vehicle detection device, dynamic detection and signal optimization of the traffic state of a number of intersections on a trunk line are realized. The method comprises the steps of array radar device installation, data acquisition and communication, trunk line self-optimization signal processing calculation, and signal instruction issuing and control. The invention further provides a trunk line self-optimization signal control device based on the array radar. According to the invention, a two-dimensional active array radar technology is used; the real-time traffic state of a number of intersections on the trunk line can be accurately detected; an optimization signal control scheme is developed; real-time decisions and emergency processing information are provided for traffic management and control; and the operation efficiency and the service level of the trunk line traffic are enhanced.
