The invention relates to a method for identifying solid line-crossing lane-merging vehicles at a traffic intersection. The method includes the following steps that: 1) a system for identifying solid line-crossing lane-merging vehicles at a traffic intersection is provided, wherein the system includes a mobile hard disk, an AT89C51 single-chip microcomputer, an image recognition device and a high-definition image pickup device, wherein the mobile hard disk stores solid line image features of the traffic intersection in advance, the high-definition image pickup device performs image acquisition on the traffic intersection so as to obtain two intersection images before and after a preset time period, the image recognition device is connected with the high-definition image pickup device and the mobile hard disk respectively, and performs image processing on the two intersection images based on the solid line image features, and the AT89C51 single-chip microcomputer is connected with the image recognition device and determines whether solid line-crossing lane-merging vehicles exist at the traffic intersection based on image processing results; and (2) the system is adopted to perform identification.
