The invention discloses a method and a device for optimizing a communication condition of a train tail system of a train. The method for optimizing the communication condition of the train tail system of the train comprises the following steps of calculating a response proportion of a train tail according to the number of control signaling transmitted by a headstock and the numbers of response signaling transmitted in response by the train tail through relay devices and without the relay devices; regulating the positions and the orientations of the relay devices to acquire a plurality of response proportions of the train tail; determining the optimal positions and orientations of the relay devices according to the response proportions. According to the method and the device, the utilization efficiency of the relay devices at a plurality of positions and in different orientations can be conveniently acquired, and the importance of the relay devices can be clearly known, so that the communication condition of the train tail system of the train can be accurately mastered, and the optimal positions and orientations of the relay devices can be determined to further optimize the communication condition of the train tail system of the train.
