A crossbow type suspension system is a damping system for a vehicle, wire ropes which can freely wring are adopted, flexible connection between wheels and a vehicle frame is adopted, so two wheels can freely bounce without limit. The technical scheme is that vertical U-shaped channel steel is riveted to two ends of a group of flat spring plates, two steel ropes having bearings which are riveted to two ends of the steel ropes are respectively fixed to the U-shaped channel steel between an axle and the spring plates to form a crossbow type suspension system. The flat spring plates can better bear a tractive force from an engine and a braking force compared with bended spring plates. When a vehicle bounces, bearings at two ends of the steel ropes can freely rotate so that the vehicle can freely bounce. The spring plates can bear the tractive force from an engine and a braking force while bearing the weight of the vehicle, so the rigidity of the spring plates has to be large enough. A damper is mounted between the vehicle frame and the axle to quick release continuous vibration of the spring plates when the vehicle bounces. A transverse pull bar is disposed between the vehicle and the vehicle frame to prevent the lateral movement of the axle.
