Provided is a method for predicting the grades of urban traffic conditions. The method comprises following steps: 1 arranging time data, wherein the time data has five characteristic attributes including the serial number of unit time, what day, holiday or not, workday or not, and important event or not; 2, analyzing and processing weather data and traffic condition relevance, wherein the weather data has three characteristic attributes including temperature, visibility, rainfall; 3, establishing an attribute set for predicting the grade of a traffic condition, integrating processed time data, whether data, important event days, and a middle and primary school holiday characteristic attribute into a multidimensional data table which has eight discrete characteristic attribute according to database information; 4, grading the traffic conditions in areas under administration; 5, constructing a Naive Bayes classifier; and 6, predicting the grades of traffic condition of each area. The method for predicting the grades of urban traffic conditions effectively achieves prediction and is good in accuracy.
