The invention relates to the field of mechanical equipment, in particular to an elevator without a traveling cable. According to the technical scheme for achieving the technical aim, the elevator without the traveling cable comprises an electric energy device for providing electric energy for lift car running and a communication device for providing signal transmission for a lift car; the electric energy device comprises a storage battery arranged on the lift car and a charging device for charging the storage battery, and the charging device comprises a primary coil arranged on a shaft wall and a secondary coil arranged on the lift car; and the communication device comprises a magnetic coupling device arranged on the lift car and a decoder for receiving and decoding signals sent by the magnetic coupling device, and the decoder is electrically connected with a control cabinet. According to the elevator without the traveling cable, the communication and power supply problem of the traveling cable can be solved, power supply is sufficient, communication is smooth, cost is saved, and the attractiveness of the elevator is increased.
