Provided is a rubber composition for pneumatic tires for construction vehicles, which has low heat generation, cutting resistance and moldability improved in comparison to the conventional levels. This rubber composition is obtained by blending 20-40 parts by weight of carbon black, 15-30 parts by weight of silica, 2.0-3.5 parts by weight of sulfur and a sulfur-containing silane coupling agent per 100 parts by weight of a diene rubber that contains 80-100% by weight of a natural rubber and 20-0% by weight of an isoprene rubber. This rubber composition is characterized in that the total amount of sulfur in the sulfur and the sulfur-containing silane coupling agent is 2.3-4.0 parts by weight.
