The invention provides a novel safety device for elevator falling. The novel safety device comprises a car, a lifting mechanism, an opening transmission mechanism, a buffering and damping mechanism, a lower-lifting-lug locking mechanism for the buffering and damping mechanism and an anti-falling electric control system. The lower-lifting-lug locking mechanism for the buffering and damping mechanism comprises a guide plate, a limiting boss and a locking device. The guide plate is arranged in an elevator shaft, the limiting boss is welded on the guide plate, and a lock pin of the locking device is vertically aligned to an arc recessed surface of the bottom of the limiting boss. The center line of the lock pin coincides with the center line of the arc recessed surface of the limiting boss. The novel safety device has the advantages that the safety device is not influenced by factors such as excessive wear of safety gears and greasy dirt, dust and humidity in the elevator shaft, and action time of the device is stable and reliable; the safety stopping position of the car is fixed, and a car door faces an elevator door in a corridor directly, so that damage to a building is avoided during rescue, escape is facilitated, and zero rescue cost is achieved; after a safety protection task is completed by the device, the device is simple and easy to unlock and long in service life.
