The invention discloses a vehicle carpet high in sound absorption performance and a manufacturing method thereof. The carpet is formed by combining a carpet blank, a bonding layer, a composite sound absorption pad and sound absorption foam from top to bottom. The composite sound absorption pad is a composite material pad which is formed by mixing 30% of cotton fibers and 70% of polyester fibers, in this way, holes still exist after the cotton fibers are formed through roasting, the sound absorption capacity is improved, and the requirement for the strength of polyester products can also be met; meanwhile, all the layers are arranged according to a certain density ratio, and thus it is guaranteed that the optimum sound absorption effect can be achieved.
