The invention relates to an electric lifting device and a working method thereof and belongs to the technical field of electric system equipment. The electric lifting device comprises a base, a vertical bar, a cross arm, a supporting rod and a steel wire rope. One end of the cross arm is provided with a fixed pulley. The cross arm and the vertical bar are fixed and supported through the supporting rod. The other end of the vertical bar is located in the base. The base comprises a hollow cylinder. The outer side face of the cylinder is connected with supports. One end of the steel wire rope is connected with a hook. The other end of the steel wire rope is wound around the fixed pulley. The lifting device is fixed to a working site through the supports. The invention further relates to the working method of the lifting device. The lifting device does not rely on an electric framework any more, arrangement and operation are facilitated, and the safety of operators is improved.
