The invention discloses a heavy-duty spring lifting method and device. The invention adopts a spring sling, the upper part of which can be connected to a cantilever crane and the lower part of which can stretch into the spring. The lower part of the spring sling is provided with tensioning claws, when the tensioning claws extend into the hollow internal part of the spring, they can expand outward to get the spring stuck, and in a lifting process, the tensioning claws are always in a tensioning state, so that the spring can be lifted by the cantilever crane so as to lift the heavy-duty spring. According to the invention, the cantilever crane can lift the heavy-duty spring directly through the spring sling, when the heavy-duty spring is lifted in place, the cantilever crane descends, the spring sling loosens automatically, and the heavy-duty spring can be taken out from the spring, thus greatly lowering the labor intensity. And compared with the means of direct lifting with a hook, the method is more convenient and efficient.
