The invention relates to an accessory drive gearbox for controlling the flaps of an aircraft, the gearbox (140) comprising a box (42), a linkage (115) for controlling flaps of the aircraft, which linkage is designed to slide axially inside said gearbox (140), and an actuator (120) for driving the linkage (115) and mounted on the box (42), the actuator (120) comprising a hollow body (121), a piston (123) designed for translational movement inside said body (121) and a piston rod (112) connected to the piston (123) and extending at least partially outside the body (121) of the actuator (120), the rod (122) being connected to the linkage (115), the gearbox (140) being characterized in that the body (121) of the actuator (120) is positioned between the connection between the rod (112) and the linkage (115), and the box (42) of the gearbox (140).
