The invention provides a method and system obtaining highway preferably traffic organization modes; the method comprises the following steps: obtaining a plurality of traffic organization modes; obtaining traffic operation parameters under different traffic organization modes; determining a plurality of traffic design reference quantities under each traffic organization mode according to the traffic operation parameters; obtaining determination factors of each traffic organization mode according to the traffic design reference quantities and a preset reference model; using the traffic organization mode with the maximum determination factor to serve as the preferable mode. The method and system obtaining highway preferably traffic organization modes comprehensively consider various traffic design reference quantities, and obtain the determination factors of each traffic organization mode according to the traffic design reference quantities and the preset reference model, and the traffic organization mode with the maximum determination factor serves as the preferable mode; the method comprehensively considers various factors instead of being limited by pass efficiency, thus realizing integration determination and preference of the traffic organization mode.
