The invention relates to a quick starting method of a hybrid electric vehicle engine; a driving torque T is applied to the engine, so that the rotating speed n of the engine is gradually increased; and when the rotating speed n of the engine is equal to n3, n3 is the set rotating speed, and T is gradually decreased. When the rotating speed of the engine reaches a certain value, the driving torque to the engine is controlled to gradually decrease, so that the impact on a twisting vibration reducer is effectively relieved; and as a certain starting time exists, the tempering phenomenon in starting or starting unsuccess of the engine is prevented, the building of engine oil pressure and engine part lubrication is facilitated, and the power and the reliability of a hybrid power system are enhanced to a certain extent.
