The invention discloses an electric power-assisting braking mechanism and a control method of the electric power-assisting braking mechanism. The electric power-assisting braking mechanism comprises a power-assisting motor, an intermediate shaft, a locking device and a braking power-assisting mechanism. The output assisting power of the power-assisting motor is transmitted to the braking power-assisting mechanism through the intermediate shaft; one end of the braking power-assisting mechanism is connected with a braking pedal assembly, and the other end of the braking power-assisting mechanism is connected with a master cylinder push rod; the locking device and the intermediate shaft are jointed functionally. When the locking device acts on the intermediate shaft, the intermediate shaft stops rotating, and the reaction force, for the braking force, produced by the master cylinder push rod is transmitted to the intermediate shaft through the braking power-assisting mechanism from the master cylinder push rod and offset by the locking device acting on the intermediate shaft. By applying the electric power-assisting braking mechanism and the control method thereof, the safety of an electric power-assisting braking system can be improved.
