The invention relates to a downhill slide control method of a hybrid electric vehicle. When a P motor which is a motor braking power is less than or equal to a P battery which is a charging power allowed by a power battery, the whole P motor is charged by the power battery; and when the P motor exceeds the P battery, the P motor is divided into two parts including the P battery and a P motor-P battery, wherein the P battery part is used for charging of the power battery, the P motor-P battery part is taken as drive power of an ISG motor, and the ISG motor is rotated to drive engine rotation in order to realize energy consumption. Energy consumed by the engine can be worked out, so that the engine can accurately assume the energy needing to be consumed, and thus vehicle speed stabilization of the vehicle during a downhill process can be ensured.
