The invention relates to a drive motor lifting device for a sidewalk of an escalator. The drive motor lifting device comprises two upright posts, a beam, a lifting rod, a movement mechanism, a vertical rod, a pull rod and a steel wire rope, wherein the two upright posts are fixedly arranged on a truss; the beam is arranged between the two upright posts; the lifting rod is arranged on the beam; the movement mechanism is arranged on the lifting rod, and can slide along the length direction of the lifting rod; the steel wire rope penetrates through the movement mechanism; one end of the steel wire rope is connected with a drive motor; the other end of the steel wire rope is connected with an electric hoist; and the vertical rod, the lifting rod and the pull rod are sequentially connected with one another end to end to form a triangular support frame. According to the drive motor lifting device, the upright posts and the lifting rod are utilized as supports; the drive motor is vertically pulled out employing tension of the electric hoist on the steel wire rope; the dive motor is moved out of the escalator employing sliding of the movement mechanism along the horizontal direction of the lifting rod; and a novel drive motor is arranged for reverse operation. The lifting device provided by the invention is simple in structure and safe to operate.
