The invention discloses an air-conditioning system of a hybrid electric vehicle and a control method thereof. The shaft extension of one end of a motor is connected with a compressor clutch and an air conditioner power generator. A motor clutch is fixed to the shaft extension of the other end of the motor and is connected with an engine. Through the arrangement of the motor clutch, the engine and the motor can be combined or separated, effective control can be achieved when the engine is at different states, and therefore power output of the motor is guaranteed. An air conditioner compressor can be controlled through the compressor clutch, so effective control over the air-conditioning system of the hybrid electric vehicle is achieved, and the problem of control over the air conditioner can be solved due to the fact that an electric air conditioner does not need to be additionally arranged. Thus, the method is capable of saving energy and is environmentally friendly, and the arrangement mode is simple in structure, reliable in work, low in cost and reduces the cost for improving the air-conditioning system, and two working modes, respectively mechanical drive working mode and electric drive working mode, can be achieved for the vehicle through one set of air-conditioning system.
