The invention discloses an on-board signal relaying device for a train, which comprises a signal receiver and a signal analysis transponder, wherein the signal receiver is used for receiving communication data, and the communication data comprise train head order and train tail response information; and the signal analysis transponder is connected with the signal receiver for analyzing the train head order and the train tail response and outputting the train head order and the train tail response which need to be transponded according to the analysis result. The invention also discloses an on-board signal relaying method for the train. The method comprises steps of communication data receiving, train head order transponding and train tail response transponding. According to the device and the method of the invention, on the basis of effectively avoiding signal transponding interference between adjacent trains and effectively avoiding signal transponding interference between the device and a fixed relay, the problem of a weak communication field during the train driving process can be effectively solved, and normal communication between the train head and the train tail can be realized.
