The invention relates to an elevator damping device which comprises a damping box installed at the bottom of an elevator car and a fixing frame positioned above on the damping box. The damping box is fixed at the bottom of the elevator car through the fixing frame on the damping box. The damping box comprises a box body, a clamping mechanism positioned on the front side of the box body, an execution mechanism and a driving mechanism, wherein the execution mechanism and the driving mechanism are arranged in the box body. The clamping mechanism can be driven by the driving mechanism and the execution mechanism to clamp a guide rail, and the bottom of the elevator car is locked on the guide rail. The execution mechanism is an eccentric clamping mechanism. The elevator damping device has the advantages that the elevator damping device is the damping box installed at the bottom of the elevator car; when an elevator is stopped, the guide rail is clamped through the clamping mechanism on the front side of the damping box to reduce the vibration of the elevator car; and the mechanical damping device is adopted, is stable in structure, good in damping effect and long in service life, reduces maintenance cost and improves quality of the elevator and the comfort of the elevator.
